Quiet Zones Improve Quality of Life

Does your community deal with shrill train horns? Complaints from local residents & business owners? Have you noticed an increase in the frequency of trains? Many studies have identified the harmful effects of noise pollution. A Quiet Zone is defined as an uninterrupted section of railroad where trains do not routinely sound their horns at grade crossings. McDowell Engineering can connect you to the Quiet Zone resources you need.

Coordination

We will manage the analysis, design and application process to meet mandated regulations; Federal Railroad Administration, Colorado Public Utilities Commission, and local agencies.

We will actively manage the public outreach process. Typical activities include making presentations to local agency board members, project stakeholders, special interest groups; drafting press releases; and creating project specific informational websites.
