Woodgate Transportation Plan

Woodgate Road Long Range Transportation Plan and Streetscape, City of Montrose
McDowell was the Project Manager and Transportation Engineer for the Long Range Transportation Planning of Woodgate Road. Woodgate Road is one of the few major north/south corridors in Montrose. The project included the traffic modeling to determine anticipated future traffic volumes, associated intersection and signal improvements, the widening of two irrigation culverts, multiuse path construction and waterline extension. This 2.1 mile stretch of roadway is to be upgraded to meet the City's minor arterial standards and accommodate the 20-year planning horizon.
Whitewater Master Plan Community Master Planning, Town of Whitewater
McDowell provided Transportation Planning services to Mesa County for the Whitewater Community Plan. The Community Plan Team spoke with residents, County staff, and the Colorado Department of Transportation as well as facilitated design charettes to receive feedback from the community. McDowell analyzed the land use alternatives and determined the appropriate transportation infrastructure and provided a Transportation Action Plan that was adopted by the Community. The Action Plan detailed future roadway corridors, projected roadway classifications, highway and access connections, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
Lorson Ranch Master Plan Lorson Ranch Master Plan and Design, Fountain
McDowell was the Traffic and Transportation Engineer for the master planning, traffic analysis, and roadway design of a 2,000 acre development located between Colorado Springs and Fountain, Colorado. The planning involved the determination of appropriate infrastructure improvements throughout the thirty+ year phased construction of the Lorson Ranch Special Improvement District.

Traffic Engineer for the transportation and parking master planning for Grand Junction’s historic downtown district. The plan is intended to provide the framework for the City to restore a vibrant, thriving retail and residential area.
